The Napa hat is a classic Panama hat which is hand-woven by indigenous artisans in Ecuador before the brim is steamed.

Hat is made of straw, woven in Ecuador in a completely natural, socially sustainable and environmentally committed process.

Historians can trace the origin of the panama hat from that Valdivian culture parentheses (3500 BC to 500 BC). They used the strong long leaves of the toquilla plant to weave a lightweight fabric that was flexible and durable. They formed hats used to protect themselves from the harsh equatorial sun. these hats were called "tocas".
